Dr. Kontie Moussa is the leader of Afar People’s Party. She shared wise words at the poetry jazz event in the capital Addis Ababa.

He speaks from the perspective of humanizing politics and social justice. His speech is not just eloquent but one of the few insightful politicians in the country.

Apart from social justice, the unity of Ethiopia is among the issues he emphasized in his short speech.

Dr. Dereje Zeleke, a legal scholar by profession, is arguably the most straight forward commentator on Ethiopian politics.

Like many Ethiopians, he tends to be critical about the”change” in Ethiopia, not that he is against change but because he thinks that there is no enough of it.

Abush Zeleke ‘s new album has become controversial. Why?

Abush Zeleke who is known for his Oromo songs is about to release a new album.

Although he used multiples of languages, including Oromo, in this album, most of the songs are in Amharic and that has angered radical Oromo ethno-nationalists. The issue has become a hot one in social media as it has generated passionate conversation.

“TPLF working to control central government power again,” Daniel Mekonnen

TPLF or Tigray regional state recently organized a conference in Mekelle with the objective to discuss “rescuing the constitution and the federal system.”

Daniel Mekonnen, a political science lecturer at Wolkite University, was invited to attend the Mekelle Conference ( invitation came from Tigray region communication office, says Daniel).

In an interview with Andafta Media, he seems to think that TPLF is working to control the federal government again.

Amhara Democratic Party had two days meeting in the capital Addis Ababa which ended on Sunday.

At the end of the meeting, the committee has released declarations regarding focus points for the next phase of the struggle so as to make the people of Addis Ababa beneficiaries – economically, socially and otherwise.

Perhaps you have not heard comedian Assefa Tegegne, and he said he is the secretary of Ethiopian Comedian Association, remarking on the political situation in Ethiopia.

In an interview with Andata media, although it is unclear as to what political forces he is referring to, he says “there is also something right in the other quarter.”

Debate on the privatization of Ethio Telecom

Kebour Ghenna has been arguing that privatization of Ethio Telecom is not in the interest of Ethiopia.

His argument is not only rooted in Ethiopian Patriotism but also he is concerned about the peril attached to it in terms of security and sovereignty of Ethiopia.

His concern emanates from the fact that national assets like Ethio Telecom will be sold to foreigners.

He is now debating the issue with other scholars.
